6/26/2006 - Out With the Upcharge

Several years have gone by and Malbis Shell has grown to become an icon in the Daphne, Alabama area. The marriage between L.A.Subs and the "C" store’s massive fueling station meets the demand driven by local customers as well as the interstate traffic.

Kevin Spriggs, founder and owner, recently made a change to his FCB program. For years he has been on upcharge where the previous supplier loaned a 2 head FCB machine in lieu of product, cup, lid and straw purchases. Kevin invited Taylor Sales & Service to propose the C302 - 4 head unit with their Frozen Fountain concept. The benefit of using typical fountain syrup proved to be a much better program for his customers as well as his bottom line.

The added cost in purchasing upcharge syrup was more than the monthly note on the Taylor 4 head FCB machine with service and PMs included.

The numbers never lie and the upcharge was replaced with Frozen Fountain. Now, Kevin uses fountain syrup in the FCB machine at a much lower cost. Cup, lid and straw expenses dropped as well considering he now uses existing inventory and to top off the benefits, the sales are soaring. "The customers absolutely love it", says Andretta, manager of Malbis Shell.

Kevin is excited with Frozen Fountain’s benefits. Lower cost, zero maintenance and higher sales, that’s a winning combination.

6/24/2006 - Slush Sells All Year Round

I run a small gas station and realized with the shrinking profits of gas, I needed to bring in more profit.I called TFI and and met with Don Kagan who convinced me that a Slush Machine would be good to increase traffic and profits. It was March and I wasn’t sure what my sales would be like but decided to take delivery before the spring rush. I couldn’t believe how good the sales were. I was averaging 25 sales a day and by May I was up to 60. I am very happy with my investment.

6/26/2006 - Two-Sided Cooking is Fast & Convenient
Jucy’s Hamburgers has been in business for 25 years serving a quality ground fresh daily ½ pound hamburger. We have been using the Taylor QS24 grill for about four years now and it has been a real success for our operation. The two-sided cooking grill has allowed us to take our traditional cooking time from 11 minutes down to under 2 minutes. The Taylor grill has increased our drive through business by over 30% in one of our locations and helped with the consistency of our product.

So far as training goes, I can hire an employee and on the first day he can cook a hamburger as good as if they were working here for 10 years. These grills have helped lower our training costs and we are assured that the product will come out the same in all our locations.

I am 100% sure we will have the Taylor QS grill in each of our new locations as we grow our company. Thank you Lane & McClain for introducing this outstanding product to our organization.

1/16/2007 - Coffee and Ice Cream Go Together

When Jill Treesh and her business partners first started forming their business concept, they knew they wanted a coffee shop and cafe with some ice cream on the menu. They were uncertain about the ice cream process and presentation.

After preliminary talks, the Taylor representative invited Jill and her group to a Batch School Seminar featuring gourmet ice cream, sorbet, custard and gelato. They were able to visualize their store having a Samoa display case and offering a variety of ice cream desserts. Jill said, "we had never considered gelato untill we saw it made and gave it a taste test." The ease of making the products in the C118 is what sold them. Taylor Dist. installed a Somoa 120 ice cream cabinet, a C118 and a 340 for slush and did indepth training for the staff.

Jill relates that the ice cream is a succes and the process is much easier than first thought. They are having fun creating new flavors all the time and even their kids get involved.

Taylor Distributors of Indiana wish the best of success to Jitterz Cafe.
